    Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Sen. Cochran’s North Mississippi field representative Billy McBeath spoke at the Alcorn County Republican Fish Fry on Monday night.  Approximately 100 Alcorn County residents attended the fish fry.

Other Speakers and representatives at the event included First District Congressional candidate Mayor Gregg Davis, Margaret Wicker McPhillips representing Senator Roger Wicker’s campaign, two candidates running for election commissioner, and a local representative for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign.

Field Rep. Billy McBeath said, “Republicans are really starting to get fired up in the first district. Local Republican meetings are gaining more attention as people tune into national and state-wide races.  If there is one McCain/Palin sign left in North Mississippi by mid-October, I will be surprised.”
